Mangamaripeta Beach is one of the famous beaches located in a vicinity of Visakhapatnam. It is believed that the region was under the kingdom of Kalinga and later the beach was used to serve as the promotional center of Buddhism. The beach is popular for Thotlakonda, a hill embracing a Buddhist complex. Located at an elevation of 128 m, the complex was discovered by an aerial survey conducted by the Indian Navy. Windsurfing, jet-skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, paddling, sailboats, and houseboats are at Mangamaripeta Beach. Mangamaripeta Beach has situated about 16km away from Visakhapatnam.
